Tilling functions
This is the function screen where all types of transactions can be performed.
Refund
If a product is returned, you can either issue a credit note or a refund. A refund adjusts the sales and the stocks and also takes VAT into account. Just scan the barcode at the bottom of the receipt, and details of the whole sale will appear on the screen.
Hold sale
If a customer decides they want something else during the ringing up of their purchases, the sale can be put on hold and retrieved when they return.
Void sale and void item
Void sale cancels the whole sale. It can be password protected. Void item allows a single purchase to be cancelled. This is not password protected as it is likely to be required more frequently.
Price override
This allows the cashier to temporarily change the selling price of an item if, for example, it is damaged. Password protection is optional. All price override transactions are recorded and can be viewed from the back office menu.
Staff discounts
Staff discounts are set in the back office menu. You can limit the range of goods on which you offer discounts, as well as setting differing levels of discounts for different levels of staff.
Customer discounts
This feature requires a manager's password. Account customers can have a standard discount rate set up with their account details. When they make a purchase, the correct rate is automatically applied.
Serial number tracking
Track the serial number of a product against a purchase order, for guarantee and maintenance purposes. You can track serial number trackable goods from the point of purchase to the point of sale. Additionally, if a customer returns a product, NPoS can check that it was purchased from your store. You can access the date of purchase, purchase price and receipt number, along with which supplier you bought it from.
Hire
With the hire function, you can check product availability, book products for hire, log the collection/return of hire products, and cancel orders.
No sale/uplifts
The no sale feature requires the cashier to give a reason for withdrawal and a manager's password. Cash withdrawn is noted in the daily cash summary of the till. You can also use this feature to perform shift/till uplifts.
Notes
20 characters per line are available for messages you would want to appear against a product at the time of sale, e.g. collect on 03/12/06.
Managers' menu
This is password protected and takes you to the next level of functionality.
Customer statements
An up-to-date customer statement can be produced for any account queries.
Shelf replenish and over-stock
The shelf replenish report tells you what has been sold up to the point of running the report. You can use this as a guide to restocking your shelves. The over-stock function allows you to run a search on which items are over-stocked, based on your minimum and maximum product set-up.
