Case study - In-House

Noticing inaccuracies in stock control and a deficiency in communication, In-House recognised the need to invest in an EPoS system which could link all three of its sites and provide a consolidated view of stock. “We needed an EPoS system to speed up our operation and provide us with more reliable and timely control of inventory figures,” said Andrew Oaks, Director of In-House.

After carrying out extensive research into the market, In-House found that Nisyst was able to provide the solution it was looking for. “What we appreciated about the people at Nisyst was their honesty and flexibility, which have been invaluable to us throughout the project,” commented Andrew. Nisyst recommended its advanced NPoS software running on the latest integrated Epson touchscreen terminal – the IR-700 – offering a complete solution tailored to In-House’s particular requirements. Specifically designed to provide smaller retailers with high functionality, NPoS gives In-House the ability to view sales history and sales trends, profit information, current stock levels at stores and warehouse, and price comparisons of different suppliers – all in an instant.

“Nisyst immediately understood what it was that we wanted, and was able to adapt the system to match our specific needs,” said Andrew. For example, to solve the issue of stock availability, Nisyst set up minimum and maximum stock levels with reorder prompts, so that NPoS raises suggested purchase orders when stock runs low. In-House has been delighted with the improved back-office efficiency, which has been key in improving all areas of the business. “The most striking benefit of using NPoS software is that it gives us access to reliable, real-time sales information, which is something we’d never had before,” said Andrew.

“We’ve been very satisfied with the whole solution,” commented Andrew. “And we know we can depend on Nisyst’s advice and services now and in the future.”
In fact, In-House plans to develop a transactional website, which will be supported by NPoS’s mail-order function. With direct links between the stores, warehouse and online operation, the e-commerce module will show live updates of sales, stock and pricing, and will provide automatic picking lists as goods are ordered online.
